The Meat Processors Association of Zimbabwe (MPAZ)

The objectives of the The Meat Processors Association of Zimbabwe are to promote and develop a compliant and economically viable meat processing industry in Zimbabwe as well as providing a platform to connect stakeholders and meat processors.

The Association works closely with the Ministries of Agriculture, Mechanisation and Irrigation Development and Commerce and Industry to facilitate value addition in the meat processing industry.

The Meat Processors Association also works closely with the Ministry of Finance and Economic Planning to review the duty on the import of MDM and protects the interests of the meat processing industry trough lobbying relevant authorities for supportive legislation and regulation.

The Association makes recommendations through consultations with various stakeholders to ensure a compliant industry and transparency in the import of raw materials such as mechanically deboned meat (MDM).

Position papers, articles and reference papers prepared by the Association are shared with its members, relevant authorities and the general public to inform, educate and advise.
